A “Stumping Event” was sponsored by the WNC-AFL-CIO on Saturday, April 17th. Candidates from both political parties were invited to speak at the Enka Union Hall. There was live music, hot dogs, soft drinks, and chips. Over 50 people were in attendance and all candidates were given time to speak. Mark Case, President of the Western North Carolina Labor Council, was host for the day. More such events are planned. Labor can no longer remain on the sidelines in the struggle for representation in government at every level.
