|DICK, I wrote to you last week about Daily Kos traffic, and I might have gotten a little ahead of myself because things have only gotten bigger in the past week. Check it out:|
As the chart shows, we have doubled the number of unique visitors in the last three months, from around seven million to over 15 million. In fact, the last week of March was Daily Kos’ biggest traffic week since May 2017, when Facebook kneecapped independent news outlets like us—something that continues to this very day. But we don’t need them—thanks to the need for real, unvarnished, truthful information, readers are choosing to come to us on their own.
Daily Kos is the go-to place for progressives to get their news. Never has that been more clear than now, as millions of new and longtime readers come to us for updates on this crisis. We don’t have billionaire backers or big corporate sponsors like some outlets. Our biggest source of income is readers like you giving $1, $5 or $10 at a time to help us make ends meet. That’s why I’m asking you to support Daily Kos by giving a starting a $5 monthly contribution today.
If you can’t start a monthly contribution, please click here to give $5 one time. It really helps.
Daily Kos has grown into the biggest liberal news and activism hub on the internet. That didn’t happen overnight. It was done with the hard work of a small, but amazing group of people who came together over many years to make Daily Kos what it is today.
If every one of the people who came to us in the last week of March had chipped in $1—just $1!—while they were on our site, then we wouldn’t need to send another email like this for more than two years. But not everyone donates, of course, and not everyone is in a position to donate.
If you support progressive, independent news and activism, and you’re fortunate enough to be in a position where you can support Daily Kos with a monthly contribution, please consider starting a monthly recurring contribution today. Click here to get started.
And if you can’t chip in monthly, but you want to support our work, please click here to chip in $5 one time.
