Today we are a country of soaring stock prices and rising profits and global force.
But we’re also a country of working poor, of hunger in rich places, of deep worry for what tomorrow brings.
Of working people fighting each other over smaller and smaller economic crumbs – while a rigged system quietly hand-delivers the entire pie to those at the top.
Of economic injustice inextricably intertwined with every other cause we carry: racial discrimination, immigration, climate change, health care.
And we’re a country whose leaders have been at best negligent in addressing these problems, and at worst complicit in their creation.
But there is one candidate in this presidential race, one U.S. Senator, one proud daughter of Oklahoma (and adopted daughter of Massachusetts), and one leader who has been in the trenches of this battle her entire career.
That’s why I’m proud to endorse Senator Elizabeth Warren’s campaign for president. Join Elizabeth and me in the battle to restore our democracy.
Before there was an editorial a day lamenting economic inequity, Elizabeth Warren knew: stock prices don’t tell a country’s full economic story – medical bankruptcies and foreclosures and paychecks do, too. And that the most powerful nation on earth with the most powerful economy in the world doesn’t have to sacrifice people for progress.
It’s the truth that has anchored Elizabeth Warren’s career.
In Elizabeth’s America, when people stumble, we pull them up. We fight by their side. We refuse to leave anyone behind. We refuse to splinter and segregate. We refuse to accept a status quo that tells us the big things are impossible, that progressive dreams are unreachable.
In Elizabeth’s America, we unite to take on our greatest common threat: a system that protects the powerful and privileged while the rest struggle to scrape by.
There is no one I’d rather have in the White House than my friend, mentor, and colleague – Elizabeth Warren.
Please join me in the fight to make her the next President of the United States:
Joe Kennedy III
U.S. Congressman, Massachusetts
