Indivisible AVL Expand Medicaid NOW! Join Our Phone Call Day of Action 4/13
MEDICAID EXPANSION ACTION 4/13 Indivisible AVL is joining with groups all over the state for two weeks of action to raise our voices and tell NC Senate Leader Phil Berger and House Speaker Tim Moore to expand Medicaid NOW. Each group is taking one day for making phone calls, and Indivisible AVL’s day is tomorrow, Monday, April 13. Can you make these two phone calls tomorrow? Dial 1-855-408-2357 any time during the day on Monday and it’ll patch you through. (NOTE: You’ll need to dial twice: Once for Berger and again for Moore.) Find details and a sample phone script here on our website. Our state desperately needs Medicaid Expansion to save lives and protect our hospitals during the COVID-19 pandemic. Right now more than 1 million North Carolinians are uninsured, and our hospitals desperately need the $2 billion in federal funds Medicaid Expansion will bring in. We are ALL at risk when any of our neighbors, family members or friends can’t get the care they need. So help us save lives! Plan to make your calls tomorrow. And share this link with friends and family and ask them to do the same: bit.ly/med-ex-now. Click hereto sign the NC Justice Center’s petition that calls on our lawmakers to make substantive change. We are asking the legislature to respond to the current COVID-19 crisis in ways that set the tone for more permanent solutions that will last beyond this current health crisis. Please read and sign the petition here. WAYS TO HELP – Food SupportWith schools closed, businesses shuttered, and unemployment at record highs, food insecurity is an even bigger problem in our community than it was before COVID-19.
