My name is Kathy Manning, and I’m running for Congress in North Carolina’s 13th Congressional District to replace Washington bought and sold Congressman Ted Budd. I know you’re engaged and have been an active supporter in the past, and I was hoping you’d be interested in getting involved this year.
I’m running because North Carolinians need someone in Congress who will work for North Carolina families, not corporate special interests. We need a solutions-oriented representative who will put partisanship aside and get things done for our community.
I know we’re all tired of Washington’s dysfunction, broken promises, and bickering. But the only way we can fix Washington is if we change who runs it.
If elected, I promise to work to expand access to affordable health care, invest in quality education for all students, and strengthen our district’s economy.
Prior to running for Congress, I led one of the largest charitable organizations in the world. My leadership position allowed me to help people access job training, mortgage assistance, and health care in the wake of the Great Recession.
I’ve spent the last 30 years bringing people together to solve problems in our community. My goal has always been to make it a place where all families can thrive.
I want to continue this work in Congress — but I’m going to need your help. This race is shaping up to be one of the most competitive races in the country.
Rep. Ted Budd votes in lockstep with his party’s leadership, and represents deep-pocketed special interest groups — instead of the hard working people in this district that depend on him. If we’re going to defeat him, we need to build a grassroots team of North Carolinians and hard-working everyday Americans from around the country.
We need teachers, nurses, small business owners, doctors, students, moms, dads, and anyone who is concerned for our future, to come together and demand better.
This campaign isn’t about me. It’s about you — and I’m grateful for every single person who lends me their support.
I’m looking forward to working with you.
