1) 02-21-2020 Friday evening Anti-Fracking & Anti-LNG event in BrownsvilleThis Friday evening 02-21-2019 Brownsville Anti-Fracking & Anti-LNG event hosted by Another Coast Is Possible and RGV Environmental Justice, 5:00 to 6:30 PM at Alice Wilson Hope Park, 1300 E Leve Street, Brownsville.
LNG: The local opposition to the LNG projects targeting our local Port of Brownsville, which started in 2015, has heated up with Port Isabel challenging the Port’s right to harm the city’s economy and health etc.
FRACKING: The Burgos Basin shale field near Reynosa, Mexico, could resurface as a major threat to all the communities along the Rio Grande Valley from the McAllen area to the Brownsville area if a change in Mexico’s leadership or policies make fracking the Burgos a windfall opportunity for the Port’s LNG export aspirations.
