|Ready for a big change in 2020?|
Then join us for “Let’s All Vote!”
Indivisible AVL is excited to launch a year-long voter engagement campaign called “Let’s All Vote!” aimed at getting progressive voters to the polls. If we do this, we will change the direction of our state and our nation. And 2020 starts now!
Research shows that one-on-one conversations with “low-propensity” voters—those least likely to make it to the polls—have the biggest effect on turnout. Bigger than postcards. Bigger than phone calls or texting. Bigger than partisan-based advertising or direct marketing. And the earlier in the election cycle these conversations start, the bigger the effect come election day.
Join us Tuesday, November 5th, to learn how this works and find out how you can take part. We’ll have a short training in the conversational approach known as deep canvassing—a non-partisan method of talking with people about issues that matter to them—and we’ll also give a preview of the revamped relational voter program we’re launching in January, a kind of networking support group that helps you have meaningful conversations (without actually “talking politics”) with people you already know: neighbors, acquaintances, coworkers, friends.
Then on Sunday afternoon, December 8th, we’ll launch our monthly outreach campaign with an amazing statewide canvass. This is a strictly nonpartisan outreach, coordinated by NC Wins, a statewide coalition of grassroots groups dedicated to protecting democracy and fostering civic engagement across the state.
Childcare provided at both events by a certified K-8 art teacher.

TAKE ACTION: Uphold NC Budget VetoRepublicans in the state Senate intend to call a vote MONDAY NIGHT, October 28th, to override Gov. Cooper’s veto of the GOP’s state budget proposal. What happens if the GOP is able to override Gov. Cooper’s veto on the state budget? There will be no Medicaid expansion. Our public school students will continue to get short-changed. Another corporate tax cut goes into effect. It’s not good. The GOP will NOT have enough votes to override the veto IF no Democrats vote for the GOP override, and IF no more than one Democrat is absent from the vote. And right now, THOSE ARE BIG “IFs.” There is no margin for rogue votes or more than one absence. Senate Democrats say they are #21Strong. That’s great, but they will be stronger when they know that you have their back in the fight for stronger public schools and more affordable health care.PLEASE CLICK HERE TO SEND AN URGENT MESSAGE to thank Senate Democrats for standing up for public education and health care. We are also encouraging them to make sure they are at the General Assembly on Monday night to vote.
Now is the time. This is not a drill.
